The Director of the Kilmacud Art Group is local artist Mary G Nolan BFA (Hons).
Mary Nolan, living in Stillorgan for the past 25 years, has had a lifelong interest and involvement with art. She studied at NCAD under Desmond Carrick RHA and Eithne Carr RHA and at IADT, Dun Laoghaire, under contemporary artists Cecily Brennan and Mark Joyce.
With her work “Interface”, she was the 2004 national winner of the prestigious RDS James White Graduate Award for emerging artists. Present work continues to explore elements of the urban, such as the city, people and communication. But nature is also present, often dominated by changing light.
Mary's work is in a number of Collections including:
Dublin Institute of Technology, Bolton St.
The Royal Hospital, Donnybrook.
The Society of the Irish Motor Industry, Dublin.
Private collections – in Ireland, Netherlands, France, UK, Germany and USA.
As Group Director, Mary seeks to encourage, inform and facilitate each individual’s approach, setting realistic challenges that will develop confidence and satisfaction, thus encouraging further exploration. A broad range of methods and mediums are explored.
